Word of the Day: Skirr

Memorial weekend came and went, I guess you would say last weekend seemed to “skirr” right by us. Eh? I hope I used the word correctly in a sentence. I’m thinking I might need a brush up.

You learn something new everyday! With a little downtime at work, I’ve been taking the opportunity to get back on the One A Day track. A little refresher, improving my Photoshop and Illustrator skills while learning words such as; fulcrum. I’ve been thinking a lot about time, and the use of my time. With busy schedules and trying to keep up with relationships, I never want to waste any valuable downtime! It’s always refreshing and inspiring to take a moment to start projects you have been meaning to do or completely projects you have already begun.

Always constantly moving around, I never get the chance to make my space the way I invision it. Lately I’ve been browsin’ a ton of decor sites to get a little inspiration. I tend to want to cramp everything I have ever wanted and needed into a not-so-big space. After searching from big to small, I came across this spectacular piece of space! This transformed Airstream has both character and charm and the added bonus is… it’s on wheels! I wish I had me one of these, it’d be bye bye real life… hello road trip!

It has been a whole month since I’ve posted anything! I’ve definitely failed my One-a-Day challenge, but what can I say? It’s been a busy time! February has been an exciting time, with great possibilities. I’ve been in the transition of starting a new full time gig so I’ve been bouncing back and forth between all my freelance jobs trying to get all my work squared away. I’m not trying to make up excuses…. okay, maybe just a little. Now with my week days a little more set, I can focus on some creative projects I’ve been dying to do. Like building my dog an awesome dog house to relax in or preparing some delicious recipes I’ve collected over the past few months. So stay tune for some awe-inspiring posts.

My brain completely shuts off after a long day of work, which is what my whole week has been like. For a glimpse yesterday, I had remember I didn’t get a chance to post a Word of the Day last week. I was a little disappointed in my efforts to keep up my challenge of improving my photoshop skills as well as my vocabulary, but what can you do? I am only human and I tend of forget things! But none the less, here is my lastest Word of the Day post. I want to say, I would like to try and venture out a bit more creatively but lets just keep it simple and to the point for now. At least until my daily routines slimmer down.

Here we go, once a week. I know I am technically a week behind but since it’s MLK Day I figure I am still in weekend mood and this week hasn’t begun for me. I know, excuses excuses! But I do have a good reason, a friend was visiting Southern California for the first time so I had to take some time away from my weekly duties and show him around town. Some of it was even a first for me, which gave me a moment to step back and see this city in a different light from the good and bad. Now I am in the processes of getting back into the swing of things from starting new projects at work as well as developing some more creative ideas for another possible website revamp. I want to add more to my personal website than just portfolio work… so here’s to hoping for the best on upcoming endeavors.

Here they are again, my one a day project is back….well sorta. I felt a little bad last year after trying to pursue this project and getting overwhelmed after a couple of days of posting my one a days. Instead of scraping the whole project all together because let’s face it, its a pretty stellar adventure to see how my photoshop skills develop. I’ve decided to commit to conceptualize one day of the week a word of the day visual. This will work better with my schedule and my conscience, til next week!

2012 is here, and its good to finally get pass the holidays and back into the groove of my usual day to day. I’ve definitely been on a vacation overload for the past couple of weeks and now I am ready for this new year of adventures and creations. It’s a time of beginnings and a fresh start, where we push out of your boundaries and comfort zones. I’m looking forward to seeing where 2012 will take me, where do you think it’ll take you?
